What a night - Fire in Penang!

Tonight, I got the chance to eye-witnessed a fire at Jalan Irving (near to Lorong Seratus Tahun and Ivory Plaza) together with four of my friends namely Danny, Dexter, Raz and Vince. we went out for the movie "Wanted" together. We finished our movie at 11:30pm, played Pool for an hour then head back to Dexter's house to allow Danny to retrieve his car to fetch all of us back. Somehow, we saw a huge black smoke in the air, not very far away, it's just right on next road. Hence, five of us took the opportunity to approach to the place to see what happened.

On the way there, we saw some orange flashing light tailing the smoke. We can guessed out it's a fire. We reached the place at around 1am. Here is a photo taken in the car when we just arrived:

There aren't so many people surrounding the place by the time we arrived, guess it's just started maybe 10 minutes ago, since it's a wooden house and fire could get up so easily. According to some of the eye-witnesses who arrived earlier than us, they said they been trying to call fire brigade but they were so slow and still haven't arrive yet. They arrived around 5-6 minutes later than us. According to some aunties, this house appears to be a place for prostitute too, I believe the cause of this fire should be from cigarettes.

This would be the first time in my life I ever gotten a chance to eye-witnessed a real fire. I'm lucky enough to have bring along my camera with me tonight and have taken few photos with some videos too.

Danny parked his car at roadside, we got down the car (sorry Danny, forgotten to close your car door =P). Here is the photos taken once I got down:

This is how our Penang's hydrants looks like, with 2 trash packs hanging on the hydrant.

Yea, if anyone of you knows where is EDGE Distribution Sdn. Bhd. It's just right beside 1 house of where the fire took place.

Here is the Part 1 video on YouTube... Enjoy.

Yea, quite a sight, don't forget how our Penang's hydrants looks like. Those people who hang their trash on hydrants are idiots.

but those hydrants were marked with a big "X" on it. didnt they send someone to fix it?

gosh... like Raz said, "Welcome to Malaysia." and same goes to the board of censorship.

I guess they just won't fix it until the incidents takes place and when they can't use it, then they will consider to fix it.

"Welcome to Malaysia"

Hi Guys..

well, I notice the problems are created due to ignorance. We should not blame the authorities only, but the public as well... as you know, our public is really bad - we broke, steal and misused public facility... somemore, our public have no civic - we throw trash everywhere.. start changing all that.. and things will be better... don't you guys thing so?
