Movie Review - Avatar

James Cameron's Avatar, an effort spent across many designers over the past 4 years has finally produced a visually stunning effects film that widely opens up our eyes and imaginations beyond our mother earth. There is only one word, "Design" that drives the entire film to such level of success. At times of writing, it has become one of the best movie of the year, and it's current rank in IMDB was top #25 with 8.9/10 score and still pushing up I guess.

The entire film are blended well in 3D + 2D environments. Every single pieces in the world of Pandora are so real that we can ever imagine, the natives clan of Na'vi, though look weird in their bluish skin at first glance but they are well designed considering they are aliens in Pandora. Then there goes the marines which equipped with advanced mechanical warfare are quite cool too, and the best of all, the creatures that lives in Pandora are so beautiful and fierce, you can hardly spot a flaw in every corner thanks to the great designers (Wayne Barlowe and Neville Page, plus concept artists James Clyne, Ryan Church, and Daphne Yap). Basically, everything looks just REAL!

What makes this film so great is partly because the design of the luminescent environments, everything are featured with glow in the dark effects during the night, and the other contribution to the success of this film is the solid plot, writer James Cameron is such an impressive writer to come up with such a storyline, which evolves not only the battle between the natives and humans, but also the love chemicals between Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).

The story gives in depth details about the life of the natives, how they lived and survived in forest full of predators. And how Jake trained to become one of them and tame his very own Banshee for sky ride. A 162 minutes of movies will not bore you up at all, in fact the director utilizes the length and provided a sense of enjoyment while watching this film. Overall, I am highly recommending this movie to everyone out there, this is a must watch movie and you shouldn't have miss out. I bet this movie will potentially score movie of the year title.

P/S: I love the part when Jake became the Turok Macto. Just watch it to know what is it. :)
